On King Street, Kedai Satay is a simple, no-frills Indonesian cafe serving satay and other grilled dishes. On the Indonesian menu are halal beef with rice, egg balado with grilled chicken, lamb and chicken skewers and grilled beef ribs. Along with satay, look for soups and curries, fried appetisers, gado gado and other salads using only natural ingredients.

Kedai Satay in King St
Fantastic, cheap and quick. Most things are cooked on the grill. Great flavors. Love the skewers and the beef ribs. Had the egg Balato - always great.

Kedai satay is unreal, most authentic and best tasting Indonesian in Melbourne, itβs a regular for me, I have brought my friends and family here and they all love it too. Very tasty, very addictive. Highly recommend!

Great authentic Indonesian food on Kings St. Decent indoor seating with a small outdoor section. I usually get their beef rendang and ais teller; both are excellent.

We had the Ayam Bakar, Sate Ayam and Soto Ayam - they were all delicious! My favourite dish was definitely the Soto Ayam which is a chicken soup! It has so much flavour and really surprised me π Itβs definitely a must-visit as everything we had was delicious and it was really reasonably priced!

Cheap Indo food in Melbourne CBD!!!! The portion is quite good, and the flavour is okay for me too! My fav is the Beef ball soup which has like tofu, beef balls, and boiled eggs! The broth is soo good, so tasty! Highly recommend :)

Good comfort food, lovely service and affordable prices.

Not worth the price for the portion you get, with a handful scoop of vegetables for the nasi bungkus. Would rather go to garamerica for it. Very disappointed and will not visit again

Went to Kedai Satay for lunch and tried the Soto Betawi and grilled chicken. Soto Betawi was flavourful, with tender beef pieces, but the soup was a bit too thin and lacked the richness of coconut cream. The grilled chicken was missing that perfect char and sweetness & the yellow rice wasnβt fragrant. On a positive note, the iced cendol was refreshing and delicious!

This was such a wholesome dining experience that it officially piqued my curiosity to explore more Indonesian cuisine! Ayam Bakar β Grilled chicken that literally fell off the bone. So flavourful, so delicious. Soto Daging β A clear beef soup that packed a punch yet tasted so clean and comforting. Nasi Bakar β Seasoned rice wrapped in banana leaves, served with tender grilled beef ribs β every bite was bursting with flavour. Kedai Satay kindly invited me out to try out their menu.

Went there for authentic experience. But it was a joke really. Average taste. Gave 2 stars because everything was fresh and well cooked. Portion sizes are very small compared to prices. Dont go for dinner maybe some snack on the go. Just not worth it for money.

Went there searching for Halal resturant because I fogot to bring the lunch. Had Grilled Lamb Ribs with Yellow Rice. Excellant taste, prompt service even in lunch time. Will definitely visit again to try their Nasi Bungkus suggested by resturant on my receipt.

This little spot on King St serves up the heartiest NASI BUNGKUS (aka wrapped rice) wrapped in banana leaf!l β’ Nasi Bungkus Lamb Ribs ($21) +Tahu Tempe (+$2) β’ Nasi Bungkus Grilled Barramundi ($21) Egg Balado (+$3) β’ Curry Chicken ($15) β’ Mango Ice Blend ($8.5) β’ Ice Teler ($8.5) The Nasi Bungkus had tender turmeric rice, spicy curried potatoes, veggies, a tasty curry sauce and the most perfectly grilled meats! Well balanced with the perfect amount of char, highly recommend!
