Found one of the best Halal food in Melbourne. Super tasty and authentic. Especially the spicy soup noodle.

New Indonesian spot at Emporium with tasty, authentic food. Loved the spicy squid rice bowl — full of flavor and just the right amount of heat. Definitely worth a try!

I went here for lunch with my partner. We got Mi goreng and Bakmi ayam jamur. I am Indonesian and I think I have a good understanding of good Indonesian food. Basically the flavour of the food was good, it was in the right direction. But everything was 10x too salty. It felt as if they put seasonings for 4 portions in our single portion of food. If it was either the Mi goreng or the Bakmi that was salty, then ok maybe a mistake. But both were super salty, it was hard to finish. I don't think I'd order from them anymore.

I had an amazing experience at Kantin! The food was absolutely outstanding—authentic Indonesian dishes bursting with flavor and made with the finest ingredients. The drinks were also top-notch, complementing the meal perfectly. The staff were incredibly friendly and warm, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be returning for more delicious, honest-to-goodness Indonesian food. Highly recommend this place! The Highlights? Honestly, everything was mind-blowingly good! Every dish had its own personality, making it hard to pick just one favorite. Here's what we had: Satay Chicken – Grilled to perfection with smoky, tender goodness. Prawn Mie Goreng – A super flavorful, generous serving that had the perfect balance of spice. Ayam Bakar Bumbu Woku – Jasmine rice with garlic crackers, fried egg & a grilled chicken that had a crumbed spice crust that was absolutely divine. Kantin Pandan Toast – If you’ve never tried pandan kaya on burnt butter toast, you’re missing out. Paired with vanilla ice cream, it was a sweet finish that stole the show. And can we talk about the refreshing drinks? Es Cendol Nangka – An Indonesian classic with green rice flour jellies, coconut milk, palm sugar, and jackfruit (yes, jackfruit in a drink). Kantin Java Tea – A house special tea blend with pandan and basil seeds. So fragrant & soothing.

The food isn't even warm. The grilled chicken ($25) and beef ribs($28) look like microwaved with no char at all. The yellow rice clumps up, definitely not fresh. For the price, there are much much better options. Won't come back.

I ordered the spicy satay chicken they put Sooo much spicy sauce on top after cooking maybe like 300 ml. Note that I am used to spicy food but for this, a normal human can’t eat that much spicy, it’s like chicken in spicy sauce, why you guys don’t give spicy sauce separate so we can just use the sauce as per our limit. 1 star I can’t eat this food actually I am sweating and my stomach will get disturb surely. Only atmosphere is good in mall, left my half food 😇🥵. Beef ribs has good flavor, but although the meat falls off the bone, the meat is tough to eat. I noticed other customers leaving a lot of food on their plates. No body informed me about the spicy level, Meat was less and spicy sauce was more than the meat on top, will never eat again from this place, instead of sorry about that and try to bring improvement they are telling me that it is always like that giving excuses.

Mie Goreng - 4 stars It was really good. Satisfied my cravings for savoury noodles but I think it was too salty. Serving size is for 2-3 people. Chicken - 5 stars Seasoned really well and flavourful. Good pair for Mir Goreng.
